Slippery When Wet

It's a little too early to put up the pool, but not for a little fun in the sprinkler and on a slip and slide. It was really hot here at the end of last week so I got out some fun water "toys". It kept the kids entertained for quite a while.

Are There Any Fish In This Lake?

Well, school was officially out May 15 and we had our first week of summer vacation this week. We all went to the country this past Tuesday and Wednesday. The kids love going there so much. One of Eddie's Aunts is getting a big water trampoline for the lake and they're going to put it in this weekend. Hopefully, Eddie can get them back up there for that!Waiting for a bite.
Sydney caught a pregnant one (she thinks) so she didn't want to keep it. She's such an animal lover. She didn't even want to use live minnows as bait, only dead ones.

Look at this BIG fish Soph caught!
I think Sam's is bigger though! He had a hard time reeling this bad boy in. He wanted to quit, but Grandma Carol encouraged him to keep trying and he eventually got it in.

More Country Fun

So much fun to be had in the country!
I couldn't believe the girls went swimming in this water. It was so cold!

The boys LOVE hanging out by the water, playing with the fishing bait (minnows), and letting the mud squish between their toes.

Seeger is such a daddy's boy! It's a chore to get the kids to stop playing and eat when they're having so much fun.

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day at school for spirit week. Sydney had numerous small ponytails in random places all over her head. She probably had 10 or more. Sophie had a faux mohawk. They both looked pretty darn cute in my opinion.

Metal Mouth

Sydney got braces today. I think she looks so much older with them. She couldn't wait to get them on, but they're hurting her this evening. She has to wear them for 12-18 months. She is going to have the most beautiful smile when those things come off!

Spirit Week

This is the last week of school and they're having spirit week (for elementary). Monday was red, white, and blue day. Tuesday was favorite sports day. The girls wore their softball and soccer uniforms. Today was mismatch day. Don't they look pretty?

A Visit Wtih Someone Special

I took a road trip to Springfield, Mo today to see my baby brother who is in the states (from Japan). We just hung out at his hotel all afternoon, even sat by the pool for a while. It was a very relaxing day and I really enjoyed seeing Steve. He says he probably won't be home for another couple of years, but I'm sure hoping he gets homesick before then. I miss him and his family SO much!!! Love you Benefields!
Mom and dad drove through Springfield on the way back from Arkansas and took us to dinner at one of Steve's old favorites, Zios. We couldn't remember the last time we had dinner together, just the 4 of us. It was really nice!

Mother's Day

Me and my babies after church today.
Eddie sent me 2 dozen roses on Saturday with the nicest card. I feel so blessed with my husband and my children!!! Isn't God good?

Trendley Fish Fry

We had Eddie's family over for a big fish fry tonight and celebrated Mother's Day. His grandma even came which was a nice treat. We had lots of yummy food and perfect weather. I thank God for family!

Go Storm!

This is Sydney's 3rd season playing softball. It's pretty much the same team since she started with a few new additions. They have come such a long way in the past year. They got slaughtered every single game in the fall, but so far this year they are 3-0. They're doing the butt kickin' now. Syd plays second base and got her first hit of the season this past Tuesday. She usually walks, so we were pretty excited about her little single. Maw Maw, Paw Paw and Grandma Nevels even got to see it! Exciting stuff!!!

Second Grade Spotlight Night

Sophie had a spotlight night at school Thursday night. They sang a couple of songs, recited some bible verses, and multiplication and division facts. They also recited their latest spelling list. Sophie had a small speaking part and she did so good. I was really proud of her. She's come such a long way since her preschool program when she stood smack dab in the middle of all the kids and cried at the top of her lungs for the ENTIRE program!Soph and her teacher (who she loves)
During her portion of the program (sorry about the "monster" eyes)
