No Girly Girls Allowed

We went to the country this week. Eddie's mom has some property that the kids love to go to. There's lots to do there. There are 4 wheelers to ride, a big lake to swim in and fish in, jeeps to ride around in and look for deer, turtles and frogs to find, fires to sit by at night, huge horse flies to run from, big thunderstorms to keep you awake into the weee hours of the night. I can't wait to go back. The girls were so happy that I went, because I usually let daddy take them to the country. I was glad to come back to the comforts of home.

I bought the stuff to make smores, but the kids wanted to make them in the microwave because they don't like how the fire makes them black. I guess they don't like to rough it as much as they think they do.

Eddie says Seeger loves it in the country because there's nothing off limits. He can't hurt anything (except himself). He entertained himself for awhile pulling this empty cooler around.

He loved taking his bath in the kitchen sink.

This is the river, I mean creek, that my little mini van had to cross to get home after the huge thunderstorm the night before. I was scared to do it by myself, so Eddie drove it across and the had to walk back through the water to go back to camp. As Eddie's mom would say, "What an adventure!"The kids all thought it was cool and cheered for Eddie when he made it through.

This picture of Eddie shows how deep the water was.

Weekend Fun

We went to a Kids Block Party today at a local convention center. They had lots of different vendor tables. Sydney and Sophie got their hair done in these pretty up-dos and got their nails painted. I forgot to take my camera. They also had lots of inflateables and a velcro wall. That was hysterical to see Syd and Sam put on velcro suits and throw themselves against the wall. They had some games with little prizes too. The best part was it was all FREE! They didn't want to leave.
Sydney's up-do.
After the "block party" the girls and some friends decided to have a lemonade stand. It's VERY hot and humid!
The boys were smart. They chose to swim.

My Dad's Boots

This is an old picture, but I love it and I thought you'd like it too.

Baby Bump

Jess is proud of her itty bitty baby bump. She's 16+ weeks here. She thinks she may have felt some baby movement, but she's not sure. We've heard the heartbeat several times though. I think she's feeling like she might be having a little girl. She's had girl dreams and is concentrating on girl names. She will find out in 2 weeks if she's right when she has her ultrasound. Jess says she doesn't care either way. She'll love a son or a daughter.

An evening with Grandma

Tonight, we picked up Grandma and went to McDonalds for dinner. Jess met us there. After we ate and the kids played for awhile, we went back to Gram's house to visit. Seeger refused to be in the picture. Grandma sure is missing her firstborn, so she welcomed the company.

New Friends

I had another old patient/new friend over today with her kids. Her oldest daughter didn't make the pictures for some reason. The oldest one is 6 and going in 1st grade, then there's 2 year old Lexie and baby Gavin (he's 4 months). The kids LOVED Gavin and I tried to talk them into letting us keep him ,but they wouldn't hear of it. He sure was sweet. Seeger said he liked petting his head.Sydney and Gavin

and with Lexie.

Family Fun at the Bowling Alley

We had "free" passes for a game of bowling. Of coarse it didn't turn out to be free. We had to pay for shoe rental and one game wasn't enough. We had to bowl 2 games. Sydney won both games. Seeger even threw several balls and loved it!!! Then we headed home to watch Wipe Out. It wasn't the same without paw paw and we missed the knock out wall.

Girls Night Out

The American Idol concert wasn't the same without Christine. We miss you so much!!! It was a great show even though Chris was far, far away. We missed the first performer. They started with the first one of the top ten to go, which was Chekezie. That's who we missed because we were running late. I know, what a shocker. They sang for 3 hours and we could have listened for 3 more. The crowd went craziest for Jason Castro and the 2 Davids. Every single one of them sounded awesome. Hope you can go with us next year Chris. See what you can do about that. The girls with the idols.

Cheap Entertainment

When we run out of things to do around here (like lighting couches on blazing fires), Eddie just puts a tailer on the back of his truck with a mattress and box springs and pulls the kids around the court over and over again. One word, HOOSIER!!!!

New Family Pets

The girls just had to have these towels when we went shopping at Kohls one day. I spend so much more money when I take them with me and I'm still constantly saying NO!

Dancing Queen

These pics are pretty blurry, but I thought they were cute anyway. They were dancing to a new Vanessa Hudgens song called "Sneaker Night". The girls took these pictures.

More Pool Time

What else is there to do on a hot, July day than keep cool in the water. Seeger
Sam
Soph
Sydney and some really hairy little girl.

Keeping in Touch

This is a patient of mine that I saw last year for weekly injections for 20 weeks. She got them because she delivered her first child early. Her name is Cheryl and we really hit it off. I fell in love with her little girl Maddie. She is just a little older than Seeger. She named her new baby Sophia (great name). She just turned one. We had a great visit and I look forward to seeing them again soon!!!
Sophie enjoyed just chillin' in her floatie and I couldn't believe she kept her little sunglasses on.

Summer Sunday

It's nearly impossible to get a good picture of 4 kids together. They looked so cute this morning before church I wanted to take their picture. They said the sun was too bright, but they were sitting in the shade. The only one who looks perfect in both pics is Sophie. Maybe if I would have taken about 50 shots I could have gotten a better one, but we were running late. I know that's a shock to all!
