Happy Halloween

The kids had a great time, but we sure were missing those Benefield kids when we went trick or treating. We went to our church for about an hour. They have quite the set up for their fall festival. They probably had 30 carnival type games set up through out the inside of the building. Of course, the prizes were candy. All the kids won one round of a cake walk too. Outside, they had a few carnival rides and lots of inflatables. When we left there, we went trick or treating for over an hour. All the kids went to bed with a tummy full of candy!

Moon Sand

One of Sam's birthday presents was moon sand. The boys had a blast playing with it today after Sam got home from school while I was wondering silently if the mother of the boy who gave it to Sam was trying to torture me! If anyone that reads my blog ever gets any of this stuff, it's a GREAT outside activity.

Sam is having a friend birthday party next Friday at a local church. We have rented their indoor playground. He invited his whole class (19), 3 neighbors, 2 cousins, 3 family friends, and of course his siblings. He had a great day today and can't wait until his big party next week.

Tire Swing

Autumn is in the Air

October is here and we can't let it go by without a trip to our local pumpkin patch. The kids were off school on Monday for a teacher work day, so we took advantage and went to play. They have a straw maze, big tractor tire swings, slides, a petting zoo, and the pony express which is the train like ride that is pulled around by a tractor.

A Visit from Japan

Steve came in from Japan to see Jake before he passed away and made it just in time. I picked him up from the airport on Thursday evening (10/2) and we went straight to Jacob's house. Jake was unresponsive when we got there, but we got to tell him we'd "see him later". Steve was asked by Aunt June to do Jake's service. He did a great job.Uncle Steve with the kiddos

Aren't they cute in their matching shirts?
I'm not sure what this is all about!

Tribute to Jacob

A dear family member went home to be with the Lord recently. My cousin, Jacob Kain, lost his lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis on October 3. He was married for 18 months to Kayla, a nurse he met during one of his many hospital stays. The love they shared was very powerful to all who knew them. We are happy for Jake. He doesn't have to worry about being short of breath, having an infection, or being in pain ever again!!! Praise God! His wife, parents, sister and so many other people who knew and loved him are the ones who need prayers now. Please remember them as they struggle through each day without Jacob.
